Vision:
To be a healthy and growing gospel-centred church in Hackbridge sharing abundant life in Jesus.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (Jesus - John 10:10)
Every church had a Day 0! For two years, the leaders and members of Christ Church Balham (started 22 years ago) have been praying towards starting another new church (a “church plant”). There are so many people in so many parts of London in need of the good news of Jesus. That’s why we love being part of the Co-Mission planting network.
Through many answered prayers, lots of input from Christian leaders across South London, and God leading us to open doors of opportunity and contacts, a team has gradually been assembling, who are willing and eager to be part of starting this church in Hackbridge.
Our longing is to reflect how one of the first ever churches was started: “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well” (1 Thessalonians 2:8). We want to be a church in Hackbridge and for Hackbridge, believing that the good news of Jesus has the love
and power not only to reconcile us to God, but to bring diverse people together in a beautiful new community, as we enjoy the abundant life of knowing God in Jesus together.A team of adults and children, mostly from Christ Church Balham, but also from other supportive churches, has been meeting around God’s word, for prayer, fellowship and worship, preparing for launch in September 2025. We are very excited!
A few of us already live in Hackbridge. By September, we hope that most of the team will have moved into the area, where we are eager to get stuck in to the community and to love our neighbours with the love that we have received from Jesus.
